Lauantaina Helsingin Vanha ylioppilastalo täyttyi 1920-luvun henkisesti pukeutuneesta juhlaväestä. Shampanja kupli ja pääsalissa sai nauttia toinen toistaan näyttävämmistä esityksistä. Muissa saleissa utuinen valaistus takasi mystisen tunnelman. Pukukoodi ei ollut ainoa, joka takasi vuosikymmenten hengen. Vanha ylioppilastalo on itsessään hyvin näyttävä juhlatila, mutta paikka oli viimeistelty näyttävillä koristeilla. Glitteriä, sulkia, vanhoja huonekaluja.

Party like Gatsby on berliiniläisen tapahtumanjärjestäjän luoma konsepti, jossa yhden illan aikana pääsee nauttimaan 1920-luvun glamourista vaihtuvassa kaupungissa. Konseptin taustalla on amerikkalaisen F. Scott Fitzgeraldin klassikkoromaani Kultahattu (engl. The Great Gatsby) vuodelta 1925. Romaanissa nuori miljonääri Jay Gatsby tulee kuuluisaksi juhlistaan, jotka tämä järjestää hulppeassa kartanossaan.

Nykypäivän Gatsby-juhlat ovat valloittaneet jo 10 eri valtiota ja peräti yli 35 kaupunkia eikä loppua näy. Tapahtuma kiertää pääasiassa ympäri Eurooppaa. Helmikuun 10. Gatsby resident löytyy sekin Suomesta, Tampereelta. Ensimmäiset Suomen Gatsbyt taisivat olla vuosi-pari sitten, mutta jostain syystä ne jäivät välistä. Onneksi tilanne tuli nyt korjattua. Suosittelen ehdottomasti! Nämä ovat nimittäin juhlat, joiden humun soisin jokaisen koettavaksi ainakin kerran elämässä.

Last Saturday Helsinki had the pleasure to locate the Gatsby's resident. The party was all about the 1920s style - as the famous Great Gatsby novel which is behind this Party like Gatsby concept. The concept is Berliner in origin. During a one night the guests have the pleasure to enjoy the 1920s glamour. Outstanding performance, champagne and not to mention the fabulous outfits of the guests. Totally recommended! Next Gatsby resident's location: Tampere, Finland. 10th February.
